Profile building, media relations and stakeholder relations

Vision 2020 Australia is a national partnership of 50 Australian-based organisations involved in eye health and vision care. Mendleson Communication has worked with Vision 2020 Australia for more than six years to help improve its relationships with a diverse set of stakeholders, build its media and public profile, and communicate messages about eye health to the Australian community.



Mendleson Communication developed an integrated communications and stakeholder relations strategy. Key activities have included:

  • ongoing media relations activity such as media strategy, development of media materials, media liaison, coordination of media events, provision of issues management advice, and media training of spokespeople
  • communication programs to launch and market specialist projects, for example, the Vision 2020 Australia Global Consortium, which is delivering aid programs in South East Asia and the Western Pacific
  • developing a suite of marketing collateral, including website, brochures, newsletters and case studies
  • special events such as a major media campaigns for World Sight Day to promote consumer eye health messages.




Over the last six years, Mendleson Communication has significantly raised the profile of Vision 2020 Australia with its key stakeholders, including government, industry bodies, eye care organisations, partners, and the Australian community.

Vision 2020 Australia is now firmly positioned within its sector as the peak body and member numbers have increased by 50 per cent since 2005.
